Ah, yes, you said that, sorry.  RedHat 7 is known for coming with a
very broken gcc, so your update was the exact right thing to do.
Anyone installing RedHat 7 should do that to keep thgeir sanity :-/.
Personally, I refuse to install RedHat 7, that simplified my life :-).
