That was interesting news (I haven't done much measurement lately).
Note, BTW, that at least with OpenSSL 0.9.6 and 0.9.6a-betax, vms.mar
is never compiled on Alpha.  Instead, bn_asm.c is used.  I think I'll
turn that back in 0.9.7-dev, that'll definitely make my life simpler
:-).
