Yep.  It's no problem anymore.

I just had to alter the Makefile which 0.9.6a's configure created,
before doing the make.

Once you've got it configured, just run :

a) sed "s/SHLIB_TARGET=gnu-shared/SHLIB_TARGET=solaris-shared/"
Makefile.ssl > Makefile.tmp

then

b) mv Makefile.tmp Makefile.ssl

I put this on the net at
http://techdocs.postgresql.org/installguides.html#solaris at about point
3, if you want to take a look, as it shows the whole context I did it
in.
