sorry, no diff, that's overkill for what i have to say.
my system has the vendor supplied make at it's usual position with it's
usual name, but i often need gnu-make, which is in the ports and gets
installed under the name "gmake".
x. in crypto/Makefile, there's a line defining $MAKE again. if one had to
redefine it in the master/toplevel makefile, this line causes errors.
x. changes to the toplevel Makefile.ssl:
# -ino: Sat-18.08.01-17:13
CC=gcc -pthread
MAKE= gmake -f Makefile.ssl
x. one big wish item: now that i've (successfully, i hope) built
openssl-0.9.6b i will rename /usr/{include,lib}/openssl to save keep it and
make links to the new installation, but most work will go into tar'ing up
the old man-pages for make to find the new ones without `loosing' the old.
for this purpose, namely *upgrading*, a procedure to handle old material
would be very nice to have.
thanks, regards,
clemens fischer
