Yes. 64-bit builds with Sun's cc are supported since long time ago. As
for GCC it should first be explicitely pointed out that -m64 options is
*not* officially supported by GCC 3.0. However! Initial support for
64-bit builds with GCC is present in the development snapshots (as has
already been pointed out). It appears to be working but noone can give
you any guarantees. Just wondering what's your "excuse" for 64-bit? I
mean do you have to build 64-bit and why?
