Good luck.  I started, then gave up, and isolated all the problematic
calls into a separate file with separate compilation flags. :)  (We're
using C++ so unprototyped function pointers were an actual error.) I
believe the openssl core team would be interested in the patches; they
were when I offered, but then recanted.

But note that most of the problem area is in the ASN.1 parsing (i2d_xxx,
d2i_xxx etc) and that code is getting replaced in 0.9.7 (and then
hopefully removed :).

It will be time-consuming and tedious.
