Are there any plans or thoughts about adding support for hardware accelerated implementation of the common transport cryptos such as RC4, 3DES etc. in libcrypto?
Any documentation available somewhere? In a Linux system I guess the hardware related stuff will be in a kernel driver, any thoughts of how that will impact on the performance? What would the preferred interface to such a beast look like? Would it make sence to do more of the SSL and crypto stuff in the kernel if crypto hardware is used so data don't have to go up to usermode from the network, down to the kernel to do decryption and then up to usermode again?
