I am at the "make test" point of installing openssl 0.9.6 and continue to
receive concern messages in ERR [generated by (make test >OUT) >&ERR] which
say:

unable to load 'random state'
This means that the random number generator has not been seeded
with much random data.
Consider setting the RANDFILE environment variable to point at a file that
'random' data can be kept in (The file will be overwritten).

I am in a Solaris 2.7 environment. I am using csh. I HAVE done a "setenv
RANDFILE /tmp/R$$" and am still told to consider setting the RANDFILE
environment variable. Even unset, HOME is set. I've had a file .rnd
present in my present working directory, with contents.

What am I leaving undone?

The OUT file reports what appears to be satisfactory operation but the
concern messages... concern me.

Please advise.
