The given patches (latest possible compilation) have been placed in http://www.openssl.org/contrib/. That's where all engine patches are placed for now.
Furthermore, the 0.9.7 patches have been used, almost verbatim, to create demos/engines/ibmca in 0.9.7 beta4 (currently only available as a snapshot). This demo creates a dynamically loadable engine to be loaded with the help of the "dynamic" engine. All the contributed engine patches, and especially those made for 0.9.7, will be looked at for the development of the ENGINE framework in 0.9.8. I'm sorry we can't currently do more for the contributors. Adding new engines in 0.9.6 simply is too much of a change (we've done the mistake once) for that line of development. Please concentrate on 0.9.7 snapshots.
