First of all, thank you for your answer.

I don't think it is necessary to have a particular HSM... I am using a
smartcard with pkcs#11 interface as a HSM, and it is working pretty good,
except for speed :-)
and I did small change in the code in order to ask for the pin.
The code of the pkcs#11 engine seems to be quite unspecific and standard ...
there are only standard pkcs#11 calls
