It took me a moment to realise what this might be about.  I have two 
questions:

- what is the output of the command 'ulimit -t'?
- can you tell me exactly when you're losing the connection?  Does it 
happen fairly consistently at the same "place"?

To be perfectly honest, I have a very hard time imagining this to be a 
OpenSSL bug.  It's much more likely that something in your environment 
logs you out after some amount of CPU time has elapsed...
