My solution to the cobalt Raq3 problem was to ditch the cobalt OS. The thing is so obsolete as to be virtually unusable anyway. For example, the new version of GCC won't compile using the existing GCC. And most software these days requires the new version of GCC. Sadly the Raq3 has been orphaned. There is no viable upgrade path. The conversion to another system was very painful. But ultimately necessary.
