I am trying to compile OpenSSL-0.9.7e on an AIX 5.1 system. I get the same problem no matter what version of gcc I try and with the latest snapshot. When it gets to compiling asm/aix_ppc32.s into asm/aix_ppc32.o, gcc just sits there forever. I get no errors so I am unsure where to start looking. The box has perl 5.6 also.
