Mac OS X behavior with shared libraries

I'm wondering if part of the OS X behavior problem is rooted in - 
Bsymbolic, based on the explanation given by Kurt Roeckx?  (i.e., it  
overrides the shared library loader, preventing shared versions of  
the library from working properly -- instead, forcing the system- 
supplied one?)
