What are the thoughts of the core development team about the prospects
for adding full RFC 5246 (TLS 1.2) support to the libraries? (I looked
in the archives and didn't find much, although that doesn't necessarily
mean it's not in there.) Very roughly speaking, what do you think the
resource requirements would be if a reasonably competent outside party
were to undertake this? (I think that they would be substantial.)
Would anybody be willing to guess what the cost might be if an outside
party were to sponsor this work?
I admit up front that I am asking not because of any specific technical
requirement, but rather a perceived regulatory requirement. Feel free
to contact me privately if you prefer.
