Hi ,

I have found a bug in Open SSL - aes_wrap.c.

The XORing logic in both AES_wrap_key and AES_unwrap_key functions is flawed in
that all the XORs inside the "if" block happens with 0 . This bug impacts
when the input size is greater than 336.

Current code in aes_wrap.c :

A[7] ^= (unsigned char)(t & 0xff);
if (t > 0xff)
 {
             A[6] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 8);
            A[5] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 16);
            A[4] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 24);
}

The corrected logic is as follows :

A[7] ^= (unsigned char)(t & 0xff);
if (t > 0xff)
{
A[6] ^= (unsigned char)((t >>  8) & 0xff);
A[5] ^= (unsigned char)((t >> 16) & 0xff);
A[4] ^= (unsigned char)((t >> 24) & 0xff);
}

The .c file with the corrected code is attached.

Hi ,

I have found a bug in Open SSL - aes_wrap.c.

The XORing logic in both AES_wrap_key and AES_unwrap_key functions is flawed in that all the XORs inside  the “if” block  happens  with 0 .  This bug impacts when the input size is greater than 336.

Current code in aes_wrap.c :

A[7] ^= (unsigned char)(t & 0xff);
if (t > 0xff)
{
             A[6] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 8);
            A[5] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 16);
            A[4] ^= (unsigned char)((t & 0xff) >> 24);
}

The corrected logic is as follows :

A[7] ^= (unsigned char)(t & 0xff);
if (t > 0xff)
{
A[6] ^= (unsigned char)((t >>  8) & 0xff);
A[5] ^= (unsigned char)((t >> 16) & 0xff);
A[4] ^= (unsigned char)((t >> 24) & 0xff);
}

The .c file with the corrected code is attached.
