Dear developers of OpenSSL.

I recently played around with openvpn and thus with openssl on a system with a AMD Geode LX processor. This CPU has an on-chip AES acceleration Unit. I was trying to use it with the current version of openssl which you can find in the Debian Squeeze repository. While using google a lot on this i could not find a "easy" solution for that.
Everything i found was something concerning patching the openssl sources.

So my question is: Are there any plans for the next releases to implement a solution for using on-chip AES hardware acceleration?

Kind regards

Alex
