For reference, the modification is back-ported to 1.0.2, but not 1.0.1. This is because 1.0.1 is open only for genuine bug fixes, while the change is not really a bug, because scripts are consistent with OpenSSL build system, which always passes additional argument denoting target ABI. I.e.
