The serial number output for in cmsout is inconsistent with the format
displayed by openssl x509 -text.  cmsout always displays an integer, whereas
x509 -text will display a hex representation of very large ints.  For
troubleshooting S/MIME email encryption problems, it's extremely helpful to
have these in the same format.  Attached is a patch to change the format of
the cmsout output.  It probably has side effects and needs to be completely
redone, but it'll give you an idea.
