The config line i added is now:

"BSD-mips","gcc:-DTERMIOS -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -msoft-float -Wall::${BSDthreads}:::BN_LLONG RC2_CHAR RC4_INDEX DES_INT DES_UNROLL:${mips64_asm}:n32:dlfcn:bsd-gcc-shared:-fPIC::.so.\$(SHLIB_MAJOR).\$(SHLIB_MINOR)",

I'd suggest to call it BSD-mips64 [where mips64 refers to MIPS ISA specification, not OS "bitness"].

Maybe I should add SIXTY_FOUR_BIT?

If you compile ${mips64_asm} SIXTY_FOUR_BIT is not matter of maybe, you *have to* use it. With n32. [And with 64 you have to use SIXTY_FOUR_BIT_LONG].

Others?

See irix lines.

Modified mips.pl <http://mips.pl> as you suggested and the warning is eliminated. Do you know if such a change will still qualify for a Change Letter validation?

This is not technical question, so I pass.
