can I compile openssl code with NO_SHA1, NO_SHA256?

HI Openssl team,

     I am getting many build errors when I define NO_SHA1 and NO_SHA256 in 
opensslconf.h. Is the SHA1 and SHA256 are mandatory for whole openssl 
compilation?
