3rd follow up
In playing around with starting and stopping the server with various
certificates, I've managed to get NS405/8 to no longer accept what
was a working crt/key pair. Now I get the same respone for the
working set as described above. I have tried everything I can think
of. I've completely shut down the web server host and restarted it,
same with the client test machines as well as deleted the cache and
cookies on the client machines.
NS 405 408 simply will no longer connect in https mode while MSIE and
NS3x continue to work fine.
