Hi all,
I use the MS S/MIME engine in Outlok 2000 to sign my messages in detached
mode. The certificate/key was generated with my own PKI server;
the certificate has all the standard PKI extensions and has a
chain length of 3.
Problem? When I send my message to friends in the same LAN
(i.e. using only our SMTP server), all is fine. But when the message
travels several MX server, the recipent is told that the content was
altered. I use a B64 encoding of the detached message to avoid text
manipulation by some MX servers but that does not help.
Any idea? The present message is an example of detached signature.
Beside the fact that you don't trust my root CA, you will see the
warning of alteration.
