Hi All,

       I have a problem creating a certificate .I have created a
private key using "genrsa" command. Further I have created
a certificate request with the "req" command.
what's the next step after this ???

According to me , i need to have the certificate created
by having the certificate request being signed by the private
key . Am I correct ????? If not , please let me know.

Next, for creating a certificate , should I use the
"ca" command or the "x509" command. The openssl manual
says that we can use both .

At this point, could anybody please guide me with the -:

The "ca" command with the appropriate arguments (please
note that I am using a cert. request and not a cert.)

The "x509" command with the appropriate arguments.

PS: I have visited the openssl manual for this and tried
the options, but i am getting some problems:-

The "CA" comand expects a cert. and does not accept a
cert. request. I have not used the "cert" or ss_cert
       arguments.

The "x509" command gives me a strange error . It says
"No such file or directory " for the private key file
eventhough the path and the file exists. It is very confusing.

       Please HELP me out !!!!!!!Thanks..........

Prashant
