Howdy. I'm on a Solaris 2.6 box with gcc version 2.95 installed in
/usr/local/bin. I did install gcc myself so I may have mucked it up.

Anyway, my question is what argument should I give to the Configure
script? Or do I need to manually specify an OS?

When I run the config, it guesses the following:

Operating system: sun4u-whatever-solaris2
Configuring for solaris-sparcv9-gcc

The config script errors out with the following lines

make[2]: Leaving directory
`/u1/home/admin/shickey/sources/openssl-0.9.6/crypto/pkcs12'
making links in crypto/comp...
make[2]: Entering directory
`/u1/home/admin/shickey/sources/openssl-0.9.6/crypto/comp'

comp.h => ../../include/openssl/comp.h [File exists]
make[2]: Leaving directory

make[1]: Leaving directory
`/u1/home/admin/shickey/sources/openssl-0.9.6/crypto'
ssl
/bin/sh: ssl: does not exist
make: *** [links] Error 1

I must admit that I don't understand the error. I mean, I know ssl
doesn't exist, that's why I'm compiling it :). Anyway, I'm sure I've
done something foolish and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Shane
