Sorry, if this question has already been answered. I'm just starting with SSL, and writing down what I'm finding.
 
I have set myself as a CA, I generate private key, create a certificate request, sign it with my CA root certificate. Everything goes nicely in the various part of the /var/ssl/ directory.
 
Now I try to sign again the certificate request (because I want to renew it, or change the start and end date basically). The system answers me that there is already an entry with same DN in index.txt.
 
I should be able to have a certificate with same DN but different valid dates? How should I handle it?
