Netmeisters, I've just had some trouble building shared versions of the ssl libraries under Linux. I just did
./config shared make make test make install Make test reports no errors, but make install finishes with: installing libcrypto.so /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so: File format not recognized installing libcrypto.so.0 /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so.0: File format not recognized installing libcrypto.so.0.9.6 /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6: File format not recogniz ed installing libssl.so /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so: File format not recognized installing libssl.so.0 /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0: File format not recognized installing libssl.so.0.9.6 /usr/bin/ranlib: /usr/local/ssl/lib/libssl.so.0.9.6: File format not recognized Any suggestions as to how to fix this would be much appreciated. -- Matthew Fleming ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Matthew G.
