Currently, I'm running openssl 0.9.6e w/ apache 1.3.26. Due to recent news, I need to upgrade openssl. My questions are:
1. Could I upgrade the openssl libs to say 0.9.6k or 0.9.7c without having to upgrade Apache?
2. If I upgrade to apache 2, is openssl "support"? In other words, will it work?
I'm assuming I'll need to recompile at some point but I'm not sure where to begin. There are two sides to this problem, I want to upgrade openssl and the web folks want to upgrade to either Apache 1.3.28 or Apache 2.
If you are curious, my story is one of a sysadmin who was recently handed over this responsibility. They had no one else to dump this on. I was the one who came late to the meeting. :)
