An extract of the PHP documentation follows:

"When calling a function that will verify a signature/certificate, the
cainfo parameter is an array containing file and directory names that
specify the locations of trusted CA files. If a directory is specified, then
it must be a correctly formed hashed directory as the openssl command would
use."

I hadn't come across a hashed directory before and, having read the relevant
sections in the OpenSSL documentation (openssl -verify and x509 -hash), I
must admit it still doesn't make an awful lot of sense to me. I am working
on Windows so perhaps that is the cause of the problem (amongst many
others!) but can anyone enlighten me as to what is a hashed directory and
how to provide a hashed directory on Windows.

Regards

-Neil
