I have a Quantis RNG card which I am testing in a Suse Linux system. We are using it to generate random numbers some of our applications. Apache is also using it as a seed for it's SSL connections.
I also want opsnssl to use the RNG Card and have come up with two options. 1) I would be to recompile openssl to use /dev/qrandom0, or 2) just change the major and minor numbers of /dev/urandom to point to the RNG card.
Are there any other ways to do this that I have over looked, and are they any problems with using options 2 which is my preferred option as I do not need to maintain my own openssl packages.
