did you try "man ciphers"? EXP1024 has to work on 1024 bit key, which is why it is called so, definitely they are stronger than "normal" EXP ciphers..once again EXP ciphers are reduced in strength so that it can be exportable in US, and I believe now there are no such restrictions..atleast thats what I got from ICSA labs.
