I need to verify a pkcs7 signature of a file's contents, but the signature is included in the file, and the hash ranges over the two parts of the file on either side of the signature. I don't want to pull the parts into a single memory buffer, so I'm guessing I should in some way create a BIO representing just the parts. Should I create a new BIO type from scratch, or does that make more sense as a filter, or better still is there an existing way to do it?
In the case that I have to create a new BIO, most of the methods look unproblematic, but ctrl is a but scary. Am I likely to need to handle a great many of the diffent ctrl codes?
