Thanks. I had misremembered - I thought the TLSv* methods would allow later TLS 
versions as well. (The code I support either always uses SSLv23_*_method and 
sets options to restrict versions, or lets the administrator configure it to 
use a different method but uses SSLv23 by default, depending on product.) 
Should have checked the docs before posting.
