Brandon, It is really up to the individual projects to enable remote participation. The foundation greenlit Kolla’s Monday and Tuesday design sessions enabling remote participation if the Kolla project did the legwork on providing the remote participation mechanism. In the past the foundation has been wary of enabling remote participation. I’m not sure why, however, your email brings up a good argument that remote participation makes it more difficult for the foundation to manage the events and puts extra strain on the already strained PTLs to self-organize such participation.
