Hi,

I agree that there should be two blueprints, one for Horizon and one for
Vitrage. For new APIs we usually write a spec file with the API definition, so
other people can comment on gerrit.

Thanks, and looking forward to the blueprint ☺
Ifat.

Yes, the banner would be displayed on all Horizon screens, not just Vitrage.
Agree that this would mean changes in both Horizon and some supporting code in
Vitrage.

Would this mean 2x Blueprints ?
     - one in Horizon for the display side of the Banner, and
     - one in Vitrage to make the Alarm Counts accessible to Horizon

I think for Horizon, they only write a blueprint (and no spec file).
What is required for Vitrage ? Just a blueprint or a spec file as well ?

I’ll definitely run the blueprint / spec file by you before submitting.

I am not attending the Boston Summit. Although there is a handful of people
from
Wind River attending.

thanks for the input,
Greg.

Hi Greg,

It sounds like a great idea.
Do you plan to show this banner in all Horizon menus (your screenshot shows
“Compute/Instances”), or just in Vitrage? for the first option I think you
would need to write the code in Horizon itself, not in vitrage-dashboard.

Let me know if you need any assistance with this blueprint. Also, if you are
attending the Boston summit, we can meet and discuss it.

Best Regards,
Ifat.

Any opinions on whether an Alarm Banner for the Vitrage Dashboard would be a
useful blueprint for improved usability ?

i.e. an ACTIVE Alarm Counts Banner in the Top Navbar of Horizon

· populated with the Active Alarm Counts for Critical, Major, Minor,
Warning Severities from Vitrage,

· visible at ALL times,

· auto-refreshed relatively every 5 secs (say) ... configurable,

· selecting it takes you directly to the Vitrage -> Alarms panel

let me know if we think this would be useful to submit as a blueprint to the
Vitrage Dashboard project,
Greg.
