I guess another thing with aggregates, as noted by someone in the etherpad, is you can tie host aggregates to certain flavors for scheduling. So if you have a set of hosts with local SSD and nova-compute and cinder-volume running on them, then you could put those in a host aggregate and tie them to your HPC flavors.
