I think Gnocchi API is very handy, the resource, metric and measure hierarchy
is well designed.
Using a default Ceilometer configuration Measures class in [1] does everything
we need to monitor the utilization data.
If Ceilometer is configured to save memory_util and disk_util it will be even
easier.
We will soon add checks if these x_util data are in gnocchiclient.metric.list.

By the way I realized that a host typed resource's hardware.disk.size.total and
hardware.disk.size.used metrics are collected with value 0 every time.
But host_disk typed resource's have meaningful values. This happens with the
default configuration of Ceilometer.
