Not to add more noise, but I wanted to mention that I _really_ like this point in particular. We've definitely seen plenty of applications for inclusion which started out as an internally-developed tool behind closed doors somewhere. When they get "flung over the wall" to the community they tend to flounder in their attempts to gain traction as properly open projects in their own right. I don't think we do a good enough job at highlighting this risk (yet), and will remember to point it out more often when I spot it in the future. Thanks! -- Jeremy Stanley
