Hey everyone!
Starting the process of moving Chef into the “big tent” of OpenStack, I’d like
to offer my candidacy for the PTL of the Liberty cycle.
My Qualifications
I have been shepherding the OpenStack Chef community since July of last year.
My role at Chef is the “OpenStack guy.” I have stepped up and done my best to
backfill Matt Ray and have the community move forward. Under my shepherding we
have 2 weekly meetings, one Monday via Google hangouts, recorded here [1] and
IRC meetings on Thursday which are recorded here [2].
My Plans for Liberty Cycle
With a working testing-stack my overarching goal it so create a an automated
continuous integration system that is publicly accessible and is also initially
a non-voting member of our community. We have made huge leaps and bounds with
the progress and I don’t want to loose the momentum. Along with the automation,
I’m actively recruiting for the community and attempting to gain more people to
help test and join our community. This has proven to be challenging, but it’s
important for our community to grow.
With the movement towards the OpenStack Big Tent this’ll require multiple
parallel tasks and collaboration between multiple companies and institutions. I
believe I help shepherding us through this and believe I’m up for that
challenge.
