As per announcement below, we are now past RC1. I'll be going over the
changes that were blocked during the past week and lift the -2s. Even
though master development is open, please consider focusing on Newton with
a great deal of attention [1].

Make sure to give review priority to issues as tracked in [2,3,4].

If you have any question, please reach out to a member of the Neutron
release team [5] on IRC.

Subject: [openstack-dev] [release][Neutron] Neutron Newton RC1 available
To: "OpenStack Development Mailing List (not for usage questions)" <>

Hello everyone,

The release candidate for Neutron for the end of the Newton cycle
is available! You can find the RC1 source code tarball(s) at:

Unless release-critical issues are found that warrant a release
candidate respin, this RC1 will be formally released as the final
Newton release on 6 October. You are therefore strongly
encouraged to test and validate this tarball!

Alternatively, you can directly test the stable/newton release
branch at:

If you find an issue that could be considered release-critical,
please file it at:

and tag it *newton-rc-potential* to bring it to the Neutron release
crew's attention.

Note that the "master" branch of Neutron is now open for Ocata
development, and feature freeze restrictions no longer apply there!

Dims (On behalf of the Release Team)
