Hi everyone,

The registration is now open for the first OpenStack Project Teams
Gathering event (which will take place in Atlanta, GA the week of
February 20, 2017). This event is geared toward existing upstream team
members, and will provide a venue for those project teams to meet,
discuss and organize the development work for the Pike release.

To learn more about the event (and find the registration link), please
check out the event page at:

http://www.openstack.org/ptg

The event will happen in the Sheraton hotel in downtown Atlanta. You can
find a link to book a room at the event hotel at a discounted rate on
the "Travel" tab in that page. On that same tab you can also find
details about our expanded Travel Support program and a link to apply.

As an FYI, the "discounted rate" at the Sheraton is $185/night for a single room.

Go on hotels.com and enter "Atlanta, GA 30303" for 20th through 24th February and you can find plenty of hotels within walking distance for *less* than the "discounted rate" from Sheraton.

Alternately, go on Airbnb and book apartments for a *fraction* of the cost of any of the hotels around there:

https://www.airbnb.com/s/Atlanta--GA-30303?adults=2&checkin=02%2F20%2F2017&checkout=02%2F24%2F2017&guests=2&source=bb&ss_id=g9pq1wkj&page=1&s_tag=3noibCNy&allow_override%5B%5D=

There were 148 matching listings as of this afternoon.

One of the purposes of the PTG was to have a less expensive, less marketing/sales-oriented event. So, it would be great to encourage the management at your contributing company to get on the cost-savings wagon and use a less-expensive option for lodging.

Best,
-jay
