There is already a fully functional version of the driver for Diablo release shipped separately from trunk. We've started work on this code this week to make it compatible with Essex. The tentative delivery date is Feb 10. This code is purely driver-related, it does not affect core code. The benefit of this driver is support for NexentaStor software SAN appliance as block volume storage back-end. NexentaStor is based on OpenSolaris and uses ZFS file system for storage.
