Hmmm - I'm looking hard at that 'almost' word in there - so *possibly* you might have some misconfiguration tripping you up. Essentially I followed http://docs.openstack.org/trunk/install-guide/install/apt/content/ and the basics seem to work ok - I am not sure what platform you are using (I'm on Ubuntu 14.04) - which might be important!

Basically, without horizon, I can run almost all nova commands successfully,
including start instances and so on.
So, I strongly believe the issue should not related with other openstack
services,
Unless there is some horizon related configuration in other openstack services
???
There is must something wrong with:
        1. Configure of horizon
        2. Configure of http server
                 3. Configure of my system

Thanks.

Good answer - I too have done a packaged install. In my case to see what needs
to be set in a more disciplined install (e.g via Puppet) of various modules to
be performed later. (note to Remo - there is more than one way to do all these
things - that's kinda the point of open source...).

On to the Dashboard problem - at some point you would have created users in
Keystone with passwords - That is how to log into Horizon. In my case:

$ keystone user-create --name=admin --pass=ADMIN [email protected]

So I can log into Horizon via admin/ADMIN

         You should have a file called keystone_admin with the pass of
         your dashboard try that.

             Hi list,

             I just installed a fresh new Horizon on CentOS.

             My kernel is “2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64”.

             And the version of horizon:

             openstack-dashboard.noarch
             2014.1-1.el6    @openstack-icehouse

             When I trying to login , I get error.

             Here is what I get from /var/log/httpd/error_log:

             http://paste.openstack.org/show/84366/

             Based on

https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/6180/unable-to-login-to-openstack-dashboard-havana/

             I already disabled SELinux and also changed

             OPENSTACK_KEYSTONE_DEFAULT_ROLE ="admin"

             Here is my /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings:

             http://paste.openstack.org/show/84365/

             Anyone know why this happened ???

             Thanks.
