i think the other is for debian distros as i can not find in yum
repos.I am using centos6.6.

yeah, you need dracut-modules-growroot
it comes from epel repo
after install (in your golde image), rebuild your /boot/initramfs mkinitrd
is your friend ,not as good friend as update-initramfs but still a friend.
the old kernel that comes with centos 6 is to blame
