Well, as I said in my original email, the first boot of build 385 actually has the screen working fine (in text mode), so it can't be absolutely hopeless.
I'd be very interested in what the difference in terms of the display of this first boot on the newest image is to subsequent boots or boots of updated installs of older builds. Maybe we can find a way to get it going, would be awesome to run openSUSE on a screened RPi2. :)
