Hi Freek,
Where does it hang? Before U-Boot? In U-Boot? In Linux?
I don't know if it is before or in U-boot. I see a message about scanning
USB devices and after that message. After removing the USB device I get
the GRUB screen etc.
Since you see a message (so you're at least in U-Boot) and you're before
GRUB, it means this is U-Boot's USB probing function.
That one should time out after a while though. Doesn't it?
No I waited quite a while, 10-15 minutes, but it did not time out.
That's a shame. If I had to blindly guess I'd say power isn't enough to
turn on your USB drive and the logic to abort it isn't working properly.
I think the best option at this point would be to report this directly
to the U-Boot mailing list, so that upstream can resolve the problem.
