I noticed that there was a new image at http://download.opensuse.org/ports/
aarch64/tumbleweed/images/ for the RPi3 that I hoped included a 4.9 kernel.
I downloaded and transferred to the SD card but it has been stuck for over 30
minutes during the install.
The last messages on the serial console when it hung are:

Has anyone been able to successfully use this image?
