I just tried
openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-JeOS-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2017.12.04-Build4.5.raw.xz
from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/ARM:/Factory:/Contrib:/
RaspberryPi3/images
No problems booting this image.
Do not update kernel-default to 4.14.1-1.3, this gives problems with DMA
(buffer full).
