I am not using the image you cite, but
openSUSE-Tumbleweed-ARM-XFCE-raspberrypi3.aarch64-2019.10.25-Snapshot20191109
runs well for me on a model 3 (not 3+). Kernel is 5.3.8-1-default if
that helps.
