Yes, I realize this. I am sorry if I was not clear in my posting.
There have been several complaints about not being able to use Atheros
cards *currently* during the betas, so I thought I would give
instructions for self-compiling to make sure we have more people
involved in beta testing.

I am aware of this, and think it will be a much better design all
around. It's just a bit painful during the transition period,
especially for people like me who depend on the nongpl modules. I am
looking forward to this being fully implemented, and the proper
packages provided. Thanks for all your hard work.
